DO COVER UPS HAVE TO BE LARGER THAN THE CURRENT TATTOO ?

Usually, Cover Ups have to be somewhat larger than the original tattoo.

How much larger depends on the existing tattoo, the subject matter of the new tattoo,

the placement of the tattoo, the age of the existing tattoo and other factors.

About half the time Yes.

A cover up or rework tattoo is going over tissue which has already been injured.

Therefore, it's considered scar tissue. Scar tissue can be more sensitive during the tattoo process and will often swell up more than any of the surrounding skin

which hasn't previously been tattooed. In the case of covering up surgical, or deep scaring in which nerves have been severed; some areas may be numb.

We use numbing agents during our process which is helpful for many.
